apartment moodboard
/In September, I'm finally making the big move downtown. I've spent the last ten years living in the suburbs and I'm ready to be within driving distance of all my favorite places. Plus, the suburbs are only fun if you have four kids, two dogs, and a mortgage. I have none of those things and besides my immediate family (and Target) I won't miss a thing.
My place downtown is brand new with huge windows, Instagram worthy views, and a washer and dryer in the unit. My previous apartment was small, dimly-lit, and didn't have central air, so this new place is a big step up.
Last fall, I toured this building and ever since then I couldn't stop thinking about it. In the words of a friend, "This apartment is so Evan." The unit is actually located within the old Younker's Building, so I've been making purchases on eBay of vintage Younkers's memorabilia. I have a handful of postcards and I even stumbled upon an old Tea Room menu! Once I learned a little bit about this building's history, I wanted to honor it in some way because I know it was a special place back in the day.
I always appreciate a good mood-board, so here are some of my concepts/images/vibes that are helping me get a grip on how I want this new place to look.
